DID YOU KNOW THAT...?

It is time for serious action to clean the Chesapeake Bay, and bring back the oysters and crabs. It will not be easy and it can not be done by one person, one program, or one idea. Success will require massive undertaking. Oyster King 1 is happy to join with all of the existing and future efforts helping to save, restore and maintain the bay and its marine crops. O.K. 1 is confident that its efforts and the attendant publicity will create abundant interest and inspire large numbers of others to bring the bay back into its glory of the 40's and 50's!

We've all enjoyed the bay's bountiful rewards to us, now its time we all give something back to the Chesapeake Bay!

50 years ago you could swim in almost any part of the Chesapeake Bay ?

50 years ago billions of oysters cleaned the whole Chesapeake Bay every seven days?

Industries were fewer and more careful about the pollution caused by waste?

22 million chickens are prepared for market each month in the Delmarva area, with all of the attendant waste?

DID YOU ALSO KNOW THAT...

The Chesapeake Bay grows more toxic every year!

Oysters and Crabs, once the largest crops in the Chesapeake Bay, are decreasing in number each year!

A mature oyster can clean more than 60 gallons of Chesapeake Bay water in one day!

If we do not act soon, the cost to restore the Chesapeake Bay could exceed the entire current budget of the state of Maryland!

Bringing back the oysters can go a long way in restoring the Chesapeake!
